Orthodontists may, in some cases, may recommend a "Phase I" device which could cost up to $2600.00 stating:

• This may shorten the time required for Phase II - Braces.
• May also prevent the need for extractions.

Phase I devices are not covered by LEHB under any circumstances!

• Some doctors will recommend Phase I and the desired results are not produced.

Suggestion - If a Phase I device is recommened:

• Call LEHB and request an independent second opinion to ensure the device will help your child.
• Find out what a "fair" price for a Phase I device would be.
