L.E.H.B. members receiving the same prescription/same strength maintenance prescriptions for six months or longer must receive prescriptions via mail order or next refill.

What prescription normally requires taking for six months or longer?

• Prescriptions treating an ongoing condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure are referred to as maintenance medications.

If my doctor prescribes a “maintenance medication” how will I know if my doctor will change the prescription or strength?

• This is the reason for the L.E.H.B. requirement of same prescription/same strength for at least six months at retail pharmacy before mandatory mail becomes effective.
  • Note: after the six month period your maintenance prescription may be filled only by mail order—retail pharmacy will be blocked.

 How does mandatory mail order benefit me?

• 3 month supply (90 days) for a one (1) month copay
• Free home delivery
• 24 hour access to a pharmacist

How do I start mandatory mail order?

• By Mail:
  • Doctor must write up to a 90 day supply of your maintenance medication (plus refills for one year)
  • Complete a home delivery order form
    • Online: You may print the form from http://www.express-scripts.com website (you must register), or
    • Call member services 800 number listed on your Express Scripts card
  • Mail your completed order form and your prescription to address on form. You should receive your prescription within 14 days.
